Kara DioGuardi - The American singer-songwriter and former American Idol judge Kara Dioguardi, says she was sexually harassed by a "hugely successful artist". Kara Dioguardi has stunned fans with stories of molestation, date rape and harassment in her new memoir 'A Helluva High Note', reports the Los Angeles Times.
In the book, which hit shelves yesterday (19th April 2011), the 40-year-old reveals how she was invited on a three day song-writing trip by a "hugely successful artist". The unnamed singer instead spent the vacation "watching Russian porn, scavenging around the kitchen for food and leering at two strippers ... as they performed sex acts in the living room". DioGuardi claims she attempted to keep a professional relationship with the artist but finally gave in after an incident when he tried to "force her to touch his privates". Elsewhere in the book, Kara describes how she was molested by a family friend's teenage son when she was 11-years-old and how a fairly well known music producer date raped her. The songwriter, who has penned hits for the likes of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, says she had a "friendly dinner" with the producer but that things turned ugly, saying, "Within a few hours, he was on top of me, pumping, sweating, and speaking to me in Spanish, not a word of which I could understand".
Kara Dioguardi is currently busy preparing her new Bravo show 'Platinum Hit', which premieres on 30th May 2011. The reality singing contest will place emphasis on contestants' song-writing ability rather than their live performances.
