Christina Hendricks believes the key to a successful marriage is ''to say yes''.

The 'Mad Men' actress has been married to Geoffrey Arend for six years and always tries to understand his point of view in an argument because she respects his opinion.

She said: ''One thing I've realised with my husband is if something's not going right, you need to stop and really look through their eyes because there's a reason you fell in love and they're not trying to be mean.

''You need to stop and see what they're seeing because it's important to them and you respect them. Really listen. And learnt o say 'yes' more than 'no', sometimes they want to hear 'yes' and that's fine.''

While Christina is accommodating to Geoffrey's needs, he is just as ''supportive'' of her.

She said: ''He's amazing, he's like my biggest supporter. He's very protective.''

The 39-year-old star recently relocated to New York's Hell's Kitchen with her spouse and she is delighted by his prowess in their new kitchen.

She told Red magazine: ''He has been on a health kick lately and we've been getting this fresh farm food delivered where you don't know what you're going to get. You know, 'What am I going to do with all this cabbage?'

''He's adapted better than me to the smaller kitchen we have in New York and, to his credit, has been doing more of the cooking.''
