DARK KNIGHT RISES has been confirmed as the title of the new Batman film set to be directed by Christopher Nolan, and speculation as to which of the 'Batman Villains' will star in the movie has already begun to intensify.
The 40-year-old director recently confirmed the title of the forthcoming film, whilst also revealing that he would not be shooting the movie in 3-D, but would be using Imax and high-definition cameras. The award-winning director went on to say that the 'The Riddler' who was played by Jim Carrey in 'Batman Forever', would not be starring in 'Dark Knight Rises'. When asked which villain Batman would be going head-to-head with, the British director told the Los Angeles Times "It won't be The Riddler", before adding, "We'll use many of the same characters as we have all along and we'll be introducing some new ones. This is not starting over, this is not rebooting".
Tom Hardy, the 33-year-old British actor who starred in 'Inception', is reportedly set to play a villain in the movie, and Michael Caine is likely to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne's butler, Alfred. 'Dark Knight Rises' is set to hit screens on July 20 2012.
