Moviemaker Christopher Nolan and writer Aaron Sorkin were the toast of Hollywood on Saturday (05Feb11) after claiming the top prizes at the annual Writers Guild of America Awards.
Nolan's Inception claimed the Original Screenplay honour, while Sorkin's The Social Network was named Best Adapted Screenplay.
Sorkin's The Social Network is now a clear Oscar favourite after winning gold at the Golden Globes and the coveted Scripters Award in Los Angeles on Friday (04Feb11).
Original Screenplay Oscar favourite The King's Speech was ineligible under WGA rules.
