Ooooh it's going to be good, isn't it? The hype for 'The Dark Knight Rises' is reaching fever pitch, and the U.S. critics are right on board, with early reviews of the Christopher Nolan film ringing with praise and good cheer. A box office smash seems a certainty. The film first hits cinemas this week and all signs point to a procession - and according to reviewers it would be more than justified.
"Big-time Hollywood filmmaking at its most massively accomplished, this last instalment of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy makes everything in the rival Marvel universe look thoroughly silly and childish" screams The Hollywood Reporter, whilst Variety say that it "Retains the moral urgency and serious-minded pulp instincts that have made the Warner's franchise a beacon of integrity in an increasingly comic book-driven Hollywood universe."
Put simply, there's not been one bad review of the movie yet. Empire say "A fitting epitaph for the hero Gotham deserves" whilst Total Film writes "A smart, stirring spectacle that faces down impossible expectations to pull off a hugely satisfying end to business." Caution comes from Time Out, but even they can't resist praising the film when they write "The way the various strands tie up is a mite predictable, but it's satisfying nonetheless."
