Oscar-winning actor Cliff Robertson has been laid to rest in a private ceremony in Long Island, New York.
The star died of natural causes last weekend (10Sep11), just one day after his 88th birthday.
Following news of his death, actor Rob Lowe paid tribute to Robertson, who played his dad in 1983 movie Class, writing on Twitter.com, "Goodbye to my father in 'Class', the great Oscar winner Cliff Robertson. Lovely man, fantastic actor and full of... Class."
On Friday (16Sep11), around 100 close friends and family gathered at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in East Hampton to remember the veteran star.
During one of four eulogies at the funeral, his actor stepson Christopher Lemmon said, "He was one of the greatest men I have ever known."
