Actor Clifton Powell has vehemently denied allegations he raped a woman in Louisiana last year (11) and has vowed to fight the "false accusations".
An investigation was launched after a woman filed a complaint with police, alleging the Rush Hour star attacked her in a hotel room in August 2011, but officials dropped the case after concluding there was not enough evidence to prove a crime had been committed.
The woman, who is using the pseudonym Kiyante Myers, has now filed suit against Powell at a federal court in Louisiana seeking damages in excess of $75,000 (£46,875), according to Tmz.com, and the actor has vowed to fight the case.
A representative for Powell tells the website, "Mr. Powell absolutely denies these false accusations and plans on pursuing all legal remedies available to him against his accuser."
