Rap duo Clipse have reportedly reunited in the studio with superproducers The Neptunes to begin work on their first new album in five years.

Hip-hop star Pusha T kicked off the new year (14) by revealing he had reconnected with Pharrell Williams and his producer partner Chad Hugo to start recording tracks for a new project, and now a report on blog KarenCivil.com suggests the music will actually be for the follow-up to Clipse's Til the Casket Drops, which hit retailers in 2009.

Pusha T and his brother No Malice, who both embarked on solo careers after announcing a hiatus in 2009, will allegedly release the disc independently.

News of the studio reunion will come as a surprise to fans - late last year (13), Pusha T claimed his elder sibling was not interested in reviving Clipse, while No Malice previously insisted they were on two different musical paths.
