La Toya Jackson shocked her family and friends by refusing to "rejoice" the death of her allegedly violent ex-husband and former manager Jack Gordon.
Michael Jackson's older sister claims she was forced into the 1987 marriage against her will, and was reportedly subjected to domestic violence throughout the union.
She filed for divorce in 1997 and Gordon died 12 years later (05). And despite her claims the marriage was a sham, La Toya reveals she was saddened by his demise.
Speaking on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight, she explains, "When I heard that he had died, I was very, very hurt. I felt sorry for his family.
"Everyone that I knew and that knew me were very happy and were rejoicing and I would say to them, 'You can't rejoice over someone's downfall.'"
However, La Toya insists she never truly loved her ex: "I walked out many times. I did not (love him). We were manager and artist. He would always say, 'Do you love me?' and my answer was always, 'I love everybody.'"
