Rockers Coldplay have donated $17,000 (£10,000) to a charity campaign organised by a terminally-ill fan.

Brit Jody Duff, who is battling motor neurone disease, has been raising money for a foundation which helps others suffering from the condition, and his efforts have been boosted by a big donation from his favourite band.

Coldplay handed over $17,000 (£10,000) to Duff's campaign in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Duff, 37, was previously given a chance to meet the Yellow hitmakers at a recent gig in London, and frontman Chris Martin dedicated a song to him on stage.

Very sweet guys, as usual. But, if I were your editor, I'd ask you to reference another song. "Yellow" hit makers make is sound as if they are jaundiced, and happily, they all seem happily free of liver disease.
