Colin Firth and Jodie Kidd were both on board a plane when two passengers attacked each other. According to the Sun newspaper, the 51 year-old actor and the 33 year old model were on the same flight when the violent pair erupted mid-air. Firth was reportedly on board with his wife Livia and their children 10 year-old Luca and eight year-old Matteo; they were returning from Los Angeles, where Firth had presented Meryl Streep with her Best Actress Oscar on Sunday night (February 26, 2012).
The story in the Sun explains that the plane was 30,000 ft in the air when a fight broke out regarding an alleged theft. The cabin crew ordered the rest of the passengers to remain in their seats whilst they attempted to quell the fracas. However, they weren't able to deal with the situation themselves and they radioed for an armed police response unit to meet them when they landed at Heathrow. A source told the newspaper "Passengers were in meltdown when it spiralled out of control. It was scary for flyers who feared for the safety of the flight." On landing, all passengers were made to remain in their seats whilst officers stormed the plane.
