British soap star BRUCE JONES was rushed to hospital yesterday (05JUL06) after suffering a suspected heart attack. The Coronation Street regular, who has also appeared on the big screen alongside Bob Hoskins in 24/7 and in hit comedy The Full Monty, was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary in England after collapsing on set. The 53-year-old plays loud mouthed LES BATTERSBY in the popular British soap and was eventually released after doctors carried out a number of tests. A cast member says, "It was the biggest panic I have ever seen on the show. "Earlier in the day, Bruce said he was feeling a bit dodgy but he went ahead with his scenes and seemed to be okay. All of a sudden he just clutched his chest and his face really contorted. He was clearly in pain." A spokesperson for the soap says, "Bruce complained of feeling unwell. The ambulance was called as a precautionary measure. We fully expect him to make a complete recovery."
