Cory Monteith was ''there'' during the filming of the 'Glee' finale.

The cast of the hit show say they could ''feel'' the presence of the late star, who was found dead in July 2013 after taking a heroin and alcohol overdose.

Chord Overstreet said: ''There's a moment in the last episode that we had [to honour Cory], and then obviously when we wrapped we all took a moment.''

Chris Colfer added: ''He was there, though, we could feel him. He was there.''

Lea Michele - who was dating the late actor at the time of his death - admitted the emotional atmosphere got too much on set and the directors were forced to call 'cut' on one of the scenes.

She said: ''We cried so hard that they actually cut. We are loud criers, me and Jenna [Ushkowitz], it was like our vocal cords!''

Meanwhile, Jenna said filming the last scene was like saying goodbye to everyone you loved at the same time.

She said: ''It's as if you take every family member and friend that you've ever loved and that you have to say goodbye to and put them all in front of you at once.''

Talking about the last scene on tonight's (12.03.15) episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Darren Criss added: ''We were watching Matt Morrison sing us all a song so we were very much in our own world experiencing this.

''And one take they pulled a fast one on us, they took Matt out of it and put basically the entire crew and production there looking at us.''
