Cox Was 'Tired Of Being Arquette's Mother'
Actress Courteney Cox initiated the split from her husband David Arquette after tiring of acting like his mother.
The couple announced its break-up on Monday (11Oct10) after 11 years of marriage and in a joint statement, the stars admitted they had been on a "trial separation that dates back for some time".
An upset Arquette decided to open up about their marital problems when he called into U.S. shockjock Howard Stern's radio show on Tuesday morning (12Oct10), revealing they parted ways shortly after production began on the latest Scream sequel in Michigan.
The actor admitted the former Friends star had become fed up of his immaturity and confessed they had not been intimate in four months.
He told Stern, "After our 11th anniversary she gave me a motorcycle and said, 'I don't wanna be your mother anymore.' I was like, 'Alright, I get it.'
"We go to do Scream 4 and I'm feeling distance, obviously, from my wife. We have not had sex in quite a while... at that time like a month or so. Since then, it's been like four months... We're not having sex and I completely understand... After we got back (from the set of Scream 4), we decided to get into a trial separation."
Arquette also came clean about reports he's already moved on with waitress Jasmine Waltz, insisting he was not dating the brunette but had slept with her since separating from Cox.
He said, "So we have a trial separation, we have agreements with it. She knows she's not f**king me and she's like, 'Listen, I want you to be able to do what you got to do.' Essentially (we're) free to see (other) people.
"(But) I don't have a girlfriend, I had sex with this girl once. Maybe twice."
Arquette is seeking help from a therapist to deal with his childish behaviour and hopes his efforts will lead to a reconciliation with the actress.
He added: "I've been going to therapy. I'm trying to grow up.
"We're still tight. I love her with all my heart and she loves me with all her heart... She's a stand up girl. She's the greatest woman that ever lived."
