Courtney Love has come under attack from former Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson for her plan to release solo material under the group's name.
Courtney Love has been blasted by her former Hole bandmate for continuing to use the group's name.
Guitarist Eric Erlandson - who founded the group with the singer and left in 2002 - said that he doesn't think she should use the band's moniker for her solo projects and hinted he would be ready to reunite with the rest of the group.
He told Spin magazine: "There is no Hole without me. If Courtney has a solo album together, I think that's great. I think she should finish it and put it out and do that. But as for the real Hole? I'm open to discussions."
Courtney later posted on her Twitter page about Eric's comments, insisting the band name belongs to her.
She wrote: "Uh I just hear that a former guitar player is saying I can't use my name for MY band, he's out of his MIND. He may want to check the trademark and his amex 'Disease Model Tour' Bills, and umm, let's see his 99 usage of that amex and his 01 usage of wow 298K?198,000 DOLLARS? Hole is MY Band, MY name and MY Tradmark. (sic)"
Former bassist Melissa Auf der Maur has also complained about Courtney's decision, saying: "You can't take a Hole reunion that lightly."
