Courtney Love has dismissed reports she suffered a meltdown and pulled out of a reading at an event in New York City over the weekend (12-13May12), insisting she left early to meet her new boyfriend.
The Hole rocker was reportedly due to read a short story by writer Jay MCInerney at interactive theatre venue the MCKittrick Hotel in Manhattan on Sunday (13May12), but the New York Post's gossip column Page Six reports Love suffered an anxiety attack and fled.
She was reportedly replaced by actress Piper Perabo, who read the tale instead.
However, Love is adamant the story is not true and she left the venue early to meet her new boyfriend in another part of town.
She says, "I came in and had to go uptown to meet my boyfriend. I swear I didn't say or do anything, I was in a hurry to get uptown. I did zero, I turned up to be supportive, had a water and left. This is nonsense."
When asked about her new partner, Love adds, "He isn't public - un-Googleable (sic)."
