Courtney Love was planning to surprise her daughter FRANCES BEAN with the keys to her own house - just before the teen cut contact with her mother.
Love admits she was struggling to get along with Frances Bean, her only child with late Nirvana star Kurt Cobain, so she purchased a separate property nearby for the 17 year old to live in by herself.
The Hole rocker had planned to hand the keys over in December (09), but was dealt a blow when Frances Bean applied to the courts to be placed under the temporary guardianship of her paternal grandmother and aunt.
Love was then slapped with a temporary restraining order forbidding her from getting in touch with the teenager - just days after losing legal control of her.
She tells Clash magazine, "At Christmas time I bought her a house. And it took everything - I had to go to somebody else and get them to finance the house, because they'd frozen my account. And I was gonna blindfold her, put her in her house and go on the road - goodbye! That's it. So, there's no argument.
"She wasn't very happy living with me, that's OK - she's 17. Lenny Kravitz's daughter has her own apartment at sixteen, it's fine. As long as it's around the corner from me and I can have some supervision, it's fine."
And the star admits she's still upset about the court ruling, adding, "It's bananas (crazy). I did nothing. Um, I curse and I swear and I smoke and I take an anti-depressant. That's what it said. It's Los Angeles County Municipal Court. It's why I got us out of there and moved to New York. It's ridiculous."
