David Joins The United Nations
British singer Craig David has been appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations (U.N).
The Seven Days hitmaker will join the U.N.'s Stop TB Partnership, with the World Health Organization (WHO), to help raise awareness of tuberculosis, which claims 1.8 million lives worldwide every year.
David travelled to South Africa earlier this month (Mar10) to see how the disease is impacting the country - and has vowed to help make a difference.
He says, "It was a life-changing experience for me to hear first-hand what it is like to live in a country where half a million people become ill with TB every year and meet people who are fighting hard and making progress every day.
"It's been an incredible learning curve for me along the way. So to be able to give back in something that I feel very passionate about is something that I wanted to do."
Antonio Banderas and Angelina Jolie are also Goodwill Ambassadors for the organisation.
