The female bartender Cuba Gooding, JR. is accused of pushing in a heated altercation in Louisiana on Tuesday (31Jul12) has decided not to press charges against the actor.
New Orleans police officials issued a warrant for the Jerry Maguire star's arrest hours after the incident at the Old Absinthe House after the alleged victim filed a complaint with cops.
Gooding, Jr. was accused of lashing out at the employee when she intervened and asked the actor to leave the bar after he became embroiled in a dispute with fellow patrons who had been taking his picture.
He met with authorities on Wednesday morning (01Aug12) to clear up the claims and the warrant for misdemeanour battery was recalled.
The star's representative revealed the two parties were "moving swiftly to resolve this misunderstanding" and Gooding, Jr. was reportedly set to appear in court to answer to the allegations on Friday (03Aug12).
However, the case is now likely to be dismissed after the bartender chose not to pursue the charge, according to Eonline.com.
A spokesperson for the Old Absinthe House states the employee "has chosen to drop all charges", although venue bosses will continue to investigate the claims "internally".
Gooding, Jr. is currently in the city filming upcoming movie biopic The Butler.
