Daft Punk have recorded two tracks with Kanye West.

The French duo worked with the rapper - who sampled their track 'Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger' for his 2007 hit 'Stronger' - on songs he is expected to include on his next album, which saw him adopt an unusual vocal style.

Daft Punk's Thomas Bangalter told Rolling Stone magazine: ''It was very raw: he was rapping - kind of screaming primally, actually.''

The other half of the pair, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, added: ''Kanye doesn't give a f**k. He's a good friend.''

Filmmaker Michel Gondry - whose movies includes 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' and 'Be Kind Rewind' - has been lucky enough to hear the music from the recording sessions and was blown away at how ''powerful'' it sounded.

He said: ''One of them, I told him it sounded solid and powerful - I envisioned a cube when I heard it. He told me, Chris Cunningham's already directing the video.''

Kanye confirmed his plans to release new material in 2013 during a show in Paris, France, earlier this year.

He told the crowd: ''I wanna tell y'all that I'm working on some new s**t. It's gonna be out in a couple of months.''

Daft Punk previewed their new song, 'Get Lucky', featuring Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers, at California's Coachella festival over the weekend (13.04.13) ahead of the album's release in May.

Other musicians to feature on 'Random Access Memories' include The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas, Chilly Gonzalez, Panda Bear and Giorgio Moroder.
