Dakota Johnson has snapped up the sought after role of Anastasia Steele in the 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' film after months of speculation over who would be cast.
Dakota Johnson is confirmed to play Anastasia Steele in the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' movie.
The 23-year-old actress-turned-model - who shared a love scene with Justin Timberlake in 'The Social Network' - has snapped up the sought after role in Sam Taylor Johnson's movie adaptation of E.L. James' erotic novel.
Taking to Twitter to reveal her joy at the news on Monday (02.01.13), James wrote: ''I am delighted to let you know that the lovely Dakota Johnson has agreed to be our Anastasia in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey. (sic)''
The announcement by the best-selling author comes just over a week after Dakota was tipped to play the role of the virginal Anastasia who enjoys a kinky love affair with her boss, Christian Grey.
Previously, Hollywood starlets such as Emma Watson, Mila Kunis and Elizabeth Olson were positioned by fans as front runners for the role, while Ryan Gosling, Chris Hemsworth and Robert Pattinson have been tipped to play Christian Grey.
However Dakota's casting could throw a curve ball in the decision to pick another up and coming actor in favour of an A-Lister for the male lead.
'Fifty Shades of Grey' will be produced by Universal for release in August 2014.
Despite conquering box offices wherever it goes, it seems that Indian fans of E.L. James’ erotic novel won’t get the chance to enjoy the movie...
