Dan Stevens is in talks about starring in thriller movie 'A Walk Among the Tombstones' alongside Liam Neeson.
The 30-year-old actor - who quit period drama TV series 'Downton Abbey' last year to pursue a Broadway career - is in talks to appear in the thriller, which will be directed by Scott Frank, who is also adapting the script based on the Lawrence Block novel of the same name.
While details of Stevens' part have not been revealed, Neeson will portray a New York Police Department officer turned private investigator who has been hired to find the kidnapped wife of a drug dealer, Variety reports.
But during his enquiry he soon realises the perpetrators have committed similar crimes before leading to murders.
Stevens is currently shooting drama movie 'The Fifth Estate', which tells the story about WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the main character as well as Laura Linney, David Thewlis and Peter Capaldi.
The British hunk recently appeared alongside Jessica Chastain in Broadway play 'The Heiress' after quitting 'Downton' - in which he played Matthew Crawley - and while he admitted it was a ''difficult decision'' to leave the series, he was keen to start a new chapter in his career.
He explained: ''It felt like a good time to take stock, to take a moment. From a personal point of view, I wanted a chance to do other things.''
