Dana Delany, the Emmy Award winning actress and star of hit US show 'Desperate Housewives', has revealed to the US magazine 'Prevention' how a botched Botox injection left her with a huge hematoma and a dead nerve.
Delany admits that she went ahead with the Botox on her dermatologist's recommendation, but was unhappy with the results, saying, "He injected my forehead, hit a nerve, and created a huge hematoma. The nerve has been dead ever since. It affected the muscle in my right eye, so my eye has started to droop a little bit". The actress, perhaps best known for playing 'Katherine Mayfair' on Desperate Housewives, also admitted to suffering from an eating disorder in her younger years. She revealed, "When I was a teenager and in my 20s, I had eating issues", before adding, "I was one step away from anorexia - a piece of toast and an apple would be all I'd eat in a day".
However, after landing a role on the TV series 'China Beach', the 54-year-old actress began taking better care of herself, "I needed to have energy to work those long hours, and so I started eating more healthily", she said. Delany recently appeared in the 2010 horror movie 'Camp Hope', alongside Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew McCarthy.
