Dancing With The Stars said goodbye to the Italian model and actress Elisabetta Canalis on Tuesday night's elimination show (27th September 2011). Although Canalis had ultimately failed to impress the judges on Monday, the lacklustre Chaz Bono had found herself bottom of the leaderboard and was expected to get the boot, reports the New York Daily News.
The model, a former girlfriend of Hollywood star George Clooney, welled up as she and partner Val Chmerkovskiy learned their fate. Elisabetta told host Tom Bergeron, "For me, it was a gift ... it was a great experience. It was a great adventure so I want to thank everybody". Professional partner Val graciously said, "I'm very proud of her. I'm sorry, I wish I did better for you". The model, who appeared in the 2010 television series 'Leverage', had racked up a respectable 21 points following her quickstep routine on Monday, however, the voting public favoured lowly scorers Chaz Bono and David Arquette, who both looked visibly relieved at being spared for another week. 'The Hills' star Kristin Cavallari is still regarded as the favourite to win this year's competition.
Tuesday's elimination show featured musical performances from Demi Lovato and the Irish pop band THE SCRIPT.
