Actor Daniel Baldwin filed for divorce from his wife after she allegedly threatened to kill him on multiple occasions in front of their children.
The Mulholland Falls star made legal moves to divorce Joanne on Wednesday (13Jul11), after citing his desire to protect himself and their two daughters, Avis, three and Finley, one.
Further information has now emerged detailing the couple's marital problems, which, in part, explain what led Baldwin to call it quits.
Tmz.com has obtained the star's petition for a restraining order, which he was awarded on Tuesday (12Jul11), and Baldwin alleges a number of their arguments turned violent over the last six months.
In the document, he wrote, "Joanne came out of our bedroom and claimed she had just watched a documentary on women who kill their husbands. She exclaimed, 'Now I know how to do it, I understand why they did it. You have been warned. Move out of this house or I am going to kill you.'
"This was said in front of our two children. My older daughter, Avis asked me later, 'Is Mommy going to kill us?'
Baldwin also revealed police officers were called to his Oregon home on Sunday (11Jul11) after Joanne allegedly attacked him during a fight in the presence of their kids.
The cops later decided the intoxicated mum was "unfit" for parenting and gave Baldwin temporary custody of the tots.
The actor also recalled another incident which occurred in May (11), when Joanne threatened to kill him with a knife.
The couple wed in 2007.
