Daniel Craig 's skimpy blue trunks will soon be on display at the Barbican, reports the Telegraph today (February 29, 2012). The trunks are the pair worn by Craig as he emerges from the sea in Casino Royale. The Barbican Centre has been given access to the archives belonging to Eon Productions, who make the James Bond films.
The exhibition is being held to mark 50 years of Bond films and, as well as some of Bond's iconic outfits, it is thought that the white bikini worn by Ursula Andress in Dr. No will also be on display for visitors to see. Similarly, Halle Berry's orange bikini from Die Another Day is also likely to be on exhibit and other noteworthy costumes that have not survived the test of time are likely to be recreated especially for the exhibition. Designing 007 - Fifty Years of Bond Style will focus on the changing fashions of the Bond characters over the years, as well as taking a look at some of the props and vehicles that have been used in the hugely successful franchise. The show will also features displays explaining some of the stunts that have been used in the films, as well as looking at special effects, locations and production design.
The next Bond film, Skyfall, is due for release later this year. It will be directed by Sam Mendes and is set to star Craig as Bond once more, as well as Judi Dench in her role as M and Helen Mcrory bringing the requisite touch of glamour to the screen.
