Daniel Radcliffe seems determined to avoid the fate suffered by many young actors upon finding themselves cast in a franchise, by moving on to as many different roles as possible to avoid being pigeonholed. The star has spent this year on Broadway playing the role of J. Pierrepont Finch in the play 'How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying' following previous stage roles in 'Equus' in 2007 and between 2008 and 2009. Radcliffe is also set to play a far more grown up role on the silver screen too, playing Arthur Kipps in the film adaptation of Susan Hill's thriller novel 'The Woman In Black'.
Now, the UK's Guardian newspaper has reported that the actor - who recently topped Heat! Magazine's rich list for stars under 30 years of age - is in line to play the role of famous gay beat poet Allen Ginsberg in the independent film 'Kill Your Darlings', a film set in a 1940s New York where homosexuality was still very much a criminal act. The premise of the plot for the film - written and directed by John Krokidas - is expected to trace Ginsberg's introduction into Manhattan and his relationship with fellow beat writers of the time Jack Kerouac and Lucien Carr.
It's reported that Radcliffe pocketed some $40 million from the Harry Potter films, a tidy sum in anyone's language; thankfully though it doesn't seem to have dimmed his thirst in taking on new roles.
