Danny Glover was honoured by the Directors Guild Of America (DGA) yesterday (12SEP06) for his humanitarian work in the US and Africa. The Lethal Weapon actor was lauded at a ceremony in Los Angeles alongside film-maker Arthur Penn, Sopranos creator DAVID CHASE and New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg. DGA vice president Steven Soderbergh says, "This is a true list of leaders." Glover has worked as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations in Africa, and was arrested in 2004 during a protest about the humanitarian crisis in Sudan.
