David Beckham is giving his wife silk pyjamas for Christmas.

The soccer ace has bought two sets of nightwear - worth over £500 - for fashion designer wife Victoria from London's Harrods department store.

The pyjamas were designed by Olivia von Halle, a British designer who was working in China when she was inspired by the nightwear of fashion icon COCO CHANEL in the 1920s to create something luxurious and glamorous that would want to relax in at home.

Other famous fans of Olivia's pieces include singers Rihanna and Rita Ora, with the latter even appearing in a set of them on stage.

While David may lavish his family - which also includes sons Brooklyn, 13, Romeo, 10 and seven-year-old Cruz, and daughter Harper, 17 months - with gifts, he has taught his children the value of giving, as his sons gave presents to the homeless at Thanksgiving in the US this year.

A source explained: ''Brooklyn told his mum and dad he didn't want to receive presents for Thanksgiving this year. He said instead he'd like to donate them to people who need them more.

''Brooklyn asked one of the family bodyguards to take him to a Rite Aid store in Los Angeles so he could buy some first-aid kits to put in the charity parcels.''
