David Beckham has had a talk about sex with his 11-year-old son Brooklyn.

The 35-year-old soccer player - who is married to singer-turned-fashion designer Victoria Beckham - sat down with his eldest child to discuss the facts of life because he has started at a new school and has begun attracting interest from girls.

However, David found the conversation so awkward he had to leave the room and leave it to his wife.

In an interview with Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM radio show, he said: "Brooklyn is going to a new school. He's noticed he's getting attention from girls and he likes it, so we had the sex talk.

"It was more Victoria than me. I had to walk out of the room because Brooklyn's looking at me at the corner of his eye, kind of laughing. It was a serious talk and I had to get out! I couldn't take it."

Discussing the possibility of Brooklyn going on his first date, the sportsman insisted the decision was not in his hands.

He said: "It's a question for Victoria."

Meanwhile, David and Victoria gave a glimpse into their private life while appearing on Ellen Degeneres' talk show, revealing they rarely argue.

Speaking with Ellen, the Los Angeles Galaxy player said: "I'm very tidy, and she's not."

Victoria responded: "He always says that he is tidy, but you're not actually that tidy are you David?"

David added: "We're going to have our first argument in 11 years, I'm sure there are a lot of things that I do that drive her crazy."
