As the news breaks regarding his decision to stay with LA's Galaxy soccer team, David Beckham is also causing a stir as H&M uncover the ad campaign for his new fashion range for the high street clothing retailer. According to the Telegraph, the collection, which is due to go on sale on February 2nd, 2012 consist partly of long johns, briefs and t-shirts and marks the start of an collaboration between the high profile footballer and the Swedish fashion chain.
Beckham has previously modelled underwear for Armani but it is normally his wife Victoria Beckham who dabbles in fashion design, having released her own line of clothing for Rock and Republic as well as acting as a British ambassador for Dolce and Gabbana. However, whilst Victoria tends to hire models to advertise her range, David Beckham has gone the extra mile and stepped in front of the camera himself. According to the report, the midfielder has said of the underwear collection "I always want to challenge myself and this was such a rewarding experience for me. I'm very happy with the end result and I hope H&M's male customers will be as excited as I am."
Beckham has also hit the headlines today by announcing his intention to stay in Los Angeles and continue playing for Galaxy, for family reasons. He was expected to move to Paris Saint-Germain in the New Year but pressures of family life have seemingly prevented this. The Beckhams have three sons together, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and a daughter, Harper.
