David Beckham may not have made the Olympic soccer team as he had hoped, but his wife Victoria will make an appearance at the London Olympics with the other four members with the long-ago disbanded Spice Girls during the closing ceremonies, the London Daily Mail , reported on Monday. Although no official announcement has been made, the agreement by the 38-year-old singer, once known as Posh Spice, to join her estranged colleagues, was seen as key to the Olympics invitation, the Mail indicated. Beckham reportedly said that she agreed to the reunion "for one final performance only." According to the London newspaper, the girls will be singing two numbers, "Spice Up Your Life" and "Wannabe." If they are indeed invited, it will mark the first time in four years that they will perform together, joining George Michael and the groups Take That and The Who on stage.Their appearance will almost certainly improve ratings for the closing ceremonies, which generally fall far short of those for the opening ceremony. (Reports said early today that Beckham will appear during the opening ceremony.) In 2008, the ceremony attracted 34 million viewers in the U.S., the second-largest audience of the year behind the Super Bowl. The closing ceremony drew 27 million.
