Veteran rocker David Bowie has been forced to cancel all his future concerts, because of a painful trapped nerve in his shoulder.

The singer broke down on stage in the Czech Republic last week (23JUN04) and was forced to cancel further European gigs after being treated in hospital in Germany.

But Bowie's condition appears to have worsened, causing him to cancel all his dates in July (04) - including the THE PRINCE'S TRUST T IN THE PARK festival in Scotland on 10 July 2004.

A statement on Bowie's official website reads, "Due to the continuing pain and extreme discomfort from a trapped/pinched nerve in his shoulder and to prevent possible further injury, David Bowie has been advised by his doctors to cancel his performances at the eleven remaining European festival dates throughout July.

"Due to the unpredictable nature of the condition and in an effort to give fans as much warning as possible, (and indeed, to aid promoters in finding a replacement headliner in time for the festival dates) David Bowie very reluctantly agreed to take the advice."
