A musical written by British musicians David Byrne and Fatboy Slim about former Philippine First Lady Imelda Marcos is set to open in London later this year (14).

Here Lies Love, the stage show based on the double album of the same name written by the duo, returned to New York's Public Theater on Thursday (01May14) and it has now been announced it will open at the National Theatre in the U.K. capital in October (14).

The show first arrived at the Public Theatre in April, 2013 and was extended several times before giving way to another production.

Byrne tells The Hollywood Reporter, "We wanted it to continue, but because of the nature of the show - it's a simulated danceclub disco and the performance goes on all around you - we can't do it in a regular theatre. So we looked and looked, and in the time since the last run, we didn't find anything - almost but not quite. The Public generously said, 'Come back into the place where you were. You can do a commercial run here, and we'll make some kind of deal. We don't want it to disappear for too long.'"

While the production struggled to find a different suitable New York venue it has now been confirmed for the National Theatre in London, with director Alex Timbers saying, "The New York production will stay here, and we'll do it in a separate production in the fall. We'll reopen one of the National's spaces."
