Ellie Goulding's new album is ''incredible'' according to Danny O'Donoghue.

The Script frontman has enjoyed a private listen to the singer's second record, 'Halcyon' - released in October - and assures fans are in a for a treat.

He told Heat magazine: ''Ellie played me a few bits from her upcoming album, and it's incredible. She's so talented.''

Ellie has previously admitted the LP has a sad tone, and is a break up album.

She said: ''This album for me is a journey from dark into light, from confusion to understanding. I didn't set out to write a break-up record but I think it became one.

''I'm so incredibly proud of this record, I really can't wait for you all to hear it. Going to post a little teaser later this week I think.''

Meanwhile another favourite record Danny has recently rediscovered is David Gray's 'White Ladder', which spawned the huge hit 'Babylon'.

He added: ''I had some friends over for dinner recently and we had 'White Ladder' on. It was phenomenally popular when it was released in 1998, but it's timeless. It still sounds as good now as it did then.''
