David Hasselhoff was relieved to be voted off Dancing With The Stars on Tuesday night (21Sep10) because his exit came just a day after he underwent a painful operation on his injured knee.
The former Baywatch star had a minor surgical procedure to drain fluid from the joint on Monday morning (20Sep10), just hours before he took to the dancefloor for the hit reality TV show.
Hasselhoff wore a knee brace during Monday's performance, but his below par dancing skills weren't popular with the audience or the judges and he was given the boot during Tuesday's eviction episode.
The actor's manager Larry Thompson has now revealed Hasselhoff was hiding a painful secret - a chronically sore knee - and needed regular injections to keep the swelling down.
Thompson tells E! Online, "He's disappointed he didn't win, but he's relieved he doesn't have to dance on it (anymore). (It's not) an excuse. It's the truth."
