Heart-throb British actor David Tennant is excited about co-starring with Billie Piper on British sci-fi TV show Dr Who, because he can't get enough of her "spunky" sex appeal.

The BRIGHT YOUNG THINGS star will replace Christopher Eccleston in the title role for the revamped programme's second series - and working alongside Piper was a major attraction.

He says, "I've been admiring her in the show. She's absolutely perfect. Spunky and quick and sexy - just the ideal companion. I'm very, very pleased she's doing the whole series."

Piper agreed to stay on for the second series following Eccleston's departure when BBC bosses offered her a massive payrise - she will earn $350,000 (GBP210,000) for 13 episodes.
