The singer died from a heart attack in 2012 and now his estate executors have decided to give fans the chance to snap up keepsakes from his lifetime in the entertainment industry.

The items up for grabs include a plaque commemorating The Monkees' star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Jones' Epiphone Casino guitar, and a neon The Monkees sign the band used onstage, which have all been priced at a maximum of $2,000 (£1,250), while shirts from Jones' stage wardrobe are expected to sell for up to $800 (£500), and his driver's licence and wallet are worth an estimated $600 (£375).

Other lots from the star's estate include vintage posters and gold records, musical instruments and studio equipment.

The memorabilia will go under the hammer as part of the Julien's Auctions' Music Icons sale on 16 May (15) at the Hard Rock Cafe New York.
