Blondie are planning a major comeback with their first album in eight years and a song about singer Deborah Harry's favourite nightclub, Mother.
Harry and longtime bandmates Chris Stein and Clem Burke's new album, Panic of the Girls, will hit stores in September (11) and features a guest appearance from Beirut star Zach Condon, and a cover of his track Sunday Smile.
The video for the group's new single, Mother, is already available online and pays homage to New York's famed 1990s club of the same name.
Blondie's last album, Curse of the Blondie, was released in 2003. The band announced plans to split in 2006 but then called them off.
