Debra Messing, the American actress best known for playing Grace Adler in NBC sitcom Will and Grace, has split from her actor and producer husband Daniel Zelman after over 10 years together. The couple, who have a seven-year-old son Roman, announced the news to People magazine on Tuesday (December 20, 2011).
The pair first met when they were both students at New York University in the 1990s, and tied the knot in 2000 after dating for eight years. Debra's representative explained, "The decision was mutual, and they remain supportive of one another and committed to raising their son as a family". She rose to fame playing interior designer Adler on Will and Grace, one of America's biggest sitcoms and a show that earned a total of 16 Emmy Awards and 83 nominations during its eight year run. During an interview in 2004, the actress gushed about her family, saying, "I want my child to be like my husband. He is sensitive, really intelligent, really funny... but solid. He has a good sense of perspective". She will next be seen in the Nbc musical series 'Smash', about a Broadway team who prepare an ambitious musical based on the life on Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe.
Debra's husband Daniel is credited as co-creator and executive producer of FX series 'Damages' and also co-wrote the 2008 romantic comedy 'Fool's Gold', starring Matthew Mcconaughey and KATE HUDSON.
