Deleted Scenes have premiered a new track titled 'Songs of Leaving Behind' as they prepare for the release of their forthcoming third album, Lithium Burn, coming out April 15th on Park the Van/Nevado records. According to Paste, Deleted Scenes is "nearly impossible to categorize," combining elements of rock, punk, avant-guarde, pop, noise, psych, math rock, and Americana.
The track is on the digital version of the album, and is the 7-inch companion to first single "Stutter,"featuring Dustin Diamond ("Screech" from the television show "Saved By the Bell)," which premiered on NPR All Songs, and was praised by PerezHilton, MTV Buzzworthy, Washington City Paper and more. Called a 'neuron scrambler' by Pitchfork, the track also received high praise from Travis Morrison of The Dismemberment Plan on a recent show they performed at together, where he tweeted, "'Stutter' literally propelled me out of the dressing room to watch. I couldn't believe what was going on." In celebration of the newest album, Lithium Burn, the band also plans to kick off a tour this Spring, including in early stop into Austin, Texas to attend the SXSW festival (dates and times below).
In 2012, the band released their critically acclaimed album, Young People's Church of the Air, whichcontained a mix of studio sounds and home-recorded lo-fi noise, and was recorded with Nick Krill (The Spinto Band). The album was praised by NPR, SPIN, Pitchfork, Paste, and The Washington Post. The songs took on a live identity over the course of 300 shows on tour, including performances with Cursive, Wild Nothing, Abe Vigoda, The Antlers and more.
