A secret album by Australian pop star Delta Goodrem is set to spark a million dollar bidding war.

The 19-year-old, who also stars in soap opera Neighbours, recorded the album - DELTA - before she found music success with the million-selling INNOCENT EYES.

The album - recorded with producers TREVOR CARTER and PAUL HIGGINS from June 1999 to Sept 2000 - was shelved when Goodrem signed a label deal with Sony MUSIC.

However, Higgins now believes the album will be highly sought after, due to Goodrem's massive recent success.

He says "When it is shopped around, every label would want a piece of it. Then it is fair to assume if we released it, it would be very successful. It would sell."

On the predicted $1 million (GBP555,500) bidding price, one industry expert comments, "It'll top that easily. Look at the numbers Innocent Eyes did, then look at the egos in this business who want a Delta record in their catalogue.

"At the end of the day, there will be a fierce bidding war."

Higgins co-owns the album with Carter, Goodrem and her parents LEA and DENNIS.

Higgins adds, "Technically, this record can be released and cannot be stopped by Sony. Obviously, we can't act alone, but we don't think there is any good reason not to release it."
