Demi Lovato - who turned 18-years-old today, says she wishes she had kept her relationship with Jonas Brothers star Joe Jonas, a secret. The American actress and singer-songwriter became embroiled in a high-profile split from the musician in May 2010, and she now insists she was naive in going public with the romance, telling People Magazine, "I learned my lesson. It's not very much fun when you break up in a public relationship. So, maybe next time keep a secret."
Despite Jonas' growing reputation as a heartbreaker - he split from singer Taylor Swift in 2008 - Lovato still defends her ex-boyfriend, stating, "I know that he has the best intentions. Definitely most guys don't have the same intentions that he does."
Despite her age, Lovato has already featured in the Disney Channel hit Sonny With a Chance, as well as the films Camp Rock, and Camp Rock 2 - she's also released two albums, the second of which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, selling over 100,000 copies in its first week. Work on her third album is currently underway, provisionally scheduled to hit shelves in late 2010, possibly early 2011.
