Actor Dennis Quaid was thrilled when then-US President Bill Clinton invited him for a boys-only weekend at The White House after they met at a movie screening in Washington DC.

The actor was in the US capital city in the late 1990s, when he hit it off with the president and decided to hang out for a couple of days.

Quaid explains, "I happened to be there over the weekend for a film screening. HILLARY (CLINTON) wasn't in town, so he asked me to stay the weekend.

"We went out and played golf, hung out upstairs watching basketball.

"He gave me a lot of great advice. He's the smartest guy I've ever met, he truly is, he's very gracious.

"It was a slow news weekend, as well, and I'm like the only guest there. I was able to walk anywhere I wanted!"
