Oscar winner Denzel Washington has sullied his good guy image by confessing he took drugs as a teenager. The actor, who can be seen as drug lord Frank Lucas in biopic American Gangster, admits he tried various drugs as a kid growing up in New York. But Washington insists there is nothing unusual about his confession - he was just doing what everyone else did. And he has been clean throughout his adult life. He says, "I grew up in New York in the 60s. I did what teenagers did in 1968." When asked how he survived his brush with drugs, the 52-year-old replies, "By the grace of God."
