Karl Urban is set to reprise his role of Vaako in the new 'Riddick' movie.

The 39-year-old actor played the commander of the all-conquering Necromongers who attempted to kill Vin Diesel's character in 'The Chronicles Of Riddick' and is set to return for the third movie in the series although it is unclear how big his role will be.

The original screenplay reportedly featured Vaako quite heavily but a recent rewrite is said to include his character in a cameo role.

The movie - which is set to begin shooting soon - will be directed by David Twohy and will feature Riddick returning to his home planet to save it from ruin.

The official synopsis states: "Betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and Dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction."
