Argentine soccer legend Diego Maradona has hired an award-winning filmmaker to make a documentary about his life.

Maradona, who set the soccer world alight during the 1986 WORLD CUP, before succumbing to the temptations of drugs, wants double PALME D'OR winner Emir Kusturica to immortalise his life on film.

The Bosnian Underground director has accepted the challenge and plans to "shed some light on Maradona's constant wish to establish harmony with his family, and recreate the real personality Maradona."
