LATEST: Rapper DMX is facing another court appearance after police pulled him over in New York City on Monday (09OCT06), and impounded his vehicle on suspicion of various driving infractions. Officers stopped the rapper - real name Earl Simmons - for driving his 2001 Chevy Suburban uninspected in Yonkers. When police ran a computer check, they found Simmons was not licensed to drive in the state of New York and his car registration was suspended. Police impounded the vehicle and Simmons was issued with three summonses, according to AllHipHop.com. He was charged with driving with a suspended registration, which is a misdemeanour, and driving an unlicensed and uninspected vehicle, which are driving infractions. This is just the latest brush the rapper has had with authorities - in September (06), he was involved in an altercation with a sound crew, after his microphone was repeatedly cut during a performance at a concert. One woman in the audience suffered minor injuries during the fracas after a member of Simmons' entourage allegedly threw a chair into the crowd. In June (06), he spent a night in jail before posting $25,000 (GBP14,000) bail following a series of missed court dates stemming from a 2 June (06) incident, in which police accused him of driving erratically in White Plains, New York State. Simmons is scheduled to appear in court on 18 December (06) to face the latest charges.
