Rapper DMX showed off his famous fiery temper on the season premiere of author and inspirational speaker Iyanla Vanzant's new reality show on Saturday (13Apr13) when he lost his cool during a Tv chat.

Dmx, real name Earl Simmons, agreed to sit down for a televised reunion with his estranged son Xavier as part of the self-help guru's show Iyanla: Fix My Life, which aired on Oprah Winfrey's Own network in America, but it didn't take long before the fallen hitmaker's famous temper got the better of him.

Dmx, who has battled substance abuse issues and legal problems for years, blew up as his grown-up son - one of 10 kids he has fathered - took aim at his dad over his lack of parental skills.

Xavier calmly said, "It felt like you were a liar and a hypocrite... Most of the time, (you were) very hostile and... the way you talk made me feel like I was beneath you, even though what you were saying was good..."

A clearly agitated Dmx cut his son off and asked him to give him an example - and when Vanzant interjected, the rapper snarled, "Shut the f**k up, man. I'm talking to my (son)."

Angry Vanzant shot back, "You don't get to talk to me like that... I was talking to Xavier. I am not intimidated by you."

Fuming Dmx continued to rant and rave, adding, "Stop running your mouth," before declaring, "I'm outta here... Talk to him."

He then stormed out of the session, telling his son, "We'll talk when she stops running her f**king mouth."

Dmx returned to apologise to Vanzant and continue chatting to Xavier in a bid to reconnect with his son.
