Rappers Ja Rule and DMX have put their bitter feud behind them - after "squashing their beef" during a meeting at the VH1 Hip Hop Honors on Wednesday night (23Sep09).
The pair have long been embroiled in a mutual disliking of each other since 2000, when DMX hit out at the Always On Time star on his track Do You, insisting Ja Rule had mimicked his style of rapping.
They went on to exchange criticisms of each other's work, and argued through radio interviews.
But at the 6th Annual VH1 Hip Hop Honours, the rappers decided to put the past behind them - and even posed for a picture of unity alongside Ludacris and Foxy Brown.
DMX's manager Nakia Walker put the reconciliation down to the hip-hop star's new positive outlook on life since he was released from jail earlier this year (09).
He tells AllHipHop.com, "He has a new attitude, a new team. He looks good and (now) he is squashing beefs. (And) his performances are breathtaking."
And Ludacris is similarly pleased with the ceasefire - writing on his Twitter.com blog, "Great to see DMX and Ja Rule squash their beef after all this time. Vh1 hip hop honors. A historic night indeed."
